FAQ'S

Below is a list of some of our frequently asked questions and a little more information about CBD to help you decide which product is best for you.

1 Frequent Asked Questions
1.1 What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids in cannabis. CBD is well-documented to possess anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-anxiety effects, by working with the body’s endocannabinoid system. Because CBD is non-psychoactive, it won’t make you high.

1.2 Can CBD get me high?

No, it cannot. CBD is a cannabinoid that is non-psycho toxic (it does not result in feelings of euphoria) and has a remarkable safety profile.

1.3 What does full spectrum mean?

Full spectrum means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant in nature, rather than just CBD (Cannabidiol). Full spectrum products can be more effective than products that are CBD isolate derived due to the "entourage effect". The entourage effect, results when the many components within the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a stronger influence than any one of those components alone – it’s a synergistic effect.

1.4 Does CBD come from marijuana or hemp? What's the difference between the two?

Marijuana and hemp are two different varieties of cannabis that come from the same species of plant (Cannabis sativa L). In general, CBD is found abundantly in both. However, it’s important to note that CBD is typically found in the seeds and stem of marijuana - not in the flowering buds (which is the part that you smoke). The hemp plant is an entirely different strain of cannabis that contains high quantities of CBD throughout (stem, buds, etc), and practically zero traces of THC. If a hemp plant contains more than 0.3% THC, it is then technically a “marijuana” plant. Almost all CBD-based products come from the industrial hemp plant.

1.5 What is CBD distillate?

CBD distillates are not as refined and therefore are not as pure as CBD isolates. A CBD distillate may contain various cannabinoids such as terpenes and plant material. CBD distillate is the precursor to isolate and could be further refined even more to become a CBD isolate. Distillate doesn't have the best taste, which is why we use it in our muscle cream and thus gives our muscle cream a white color versus a green looking color if it was made with our full-spectrum oil.

1.6 What is CBD isolate?

CBD isolate is a crystalline solid or powder that contains pure CBD. There are many benefits to using pure CBD powder over other forms of CBD. While preparing CBD isolate for consumption, all other cannabinoids and plant impurities must be removed. We use isolate for our pet products so they are THC free.

1.7 Do you grow your own hemp?

Yes, we have a farm in northern New Mexico and our growers have over 13 years experience growing cannabis and have degrees from New Mexico State University.

1.8 How do I take CBD?

Most CBD products are taken orally via oil drops that are placed under the tongue and held for 60 seconds before swallowing. We have topical creams that are also very effective if you do not want to ingest CBD.

1.9 How much CBD do I take?

This one is tricky because it, of course, depends on what you’re using the compound for, and also on how strong the product is. Most people consume between 10-50 mg of CBD per day in total. For reference, 1 ml of a potent oil might contain 50 mg of CBD. Make sure you read the label on your product to ensure a proper serving. We have ours dosed from 8mg (250mg bottle) 16mg (500mg bottle) and 33 mg (1000mg bottle) of CBD per ml. We suggest keeping a journal and taking half to a full dropper and waiting 30-45 minutes to see results. Find out what dose is effective for you and go from there.
